Herinneren jullie dit kersenboompje nog? Het bloeide mooi dit voorjaar..en daarna..

Do you remember this cherrytree? It was in bloom very good in spring..and afterwards...

...hadden we een enorme oogst! Omdat het hele zure kersjes zijn, heb ik er gewoon jam van gemaakt. Volgend jaar moet ik er aan denken dat ik lege jampotjes ga sparen...!

Ondertussen gaan de tuinklusjes hier gewoon door. Op het laatste nippertje hebben we nog boontjes gezaaid, volgens het pakje kan dat tot half juli. Ik hoop dat we nog kunnen oogsten! Omdat we de kinderen er bij betrekken, is het voor hun extra leuk. Hier zijn er twee bezig de boontjes te zaaien.

...we had a big harvest! As the cherrish are so sour, I made loads of marmelade from them. I must remember that I have to collect empty glasspots next year.

In the meantime the gardenwork continiues. We did the beans in the ground and we hope that it's not too late!

Ook in onze tuin, maar dan in de achtertuin, woont een merel met zijn vrouwtje. Eerst hadden ze een nest met wel vijf merels groot gebracht. Die zaten gewoon boven op elkaar in het veel te kleine nest. Maar deze keer hebben ze er ook nog eens vier gekregen! Het lijkt er op dat ze nu achter de schutting aan het nestelen zijn..

Also in our garden, but than in the backyard, lives a blackbird copple. First they had a nest with five babies. The where so big that they had to sit on top of eachother in the much too little nest. But this time they had antother four children! And now it looks like they are making a thirth nest at the back of the garden...

Ik ben erg geinterresseerd in het consuminderen, en ga dan ook graag naar de tweedehands winkels. Hier heb ik nog wat leuke kleding gevonden.

I am very intrested in frugal living, so I often vissit secondhand shops. And I found some nice clothing.

Een echt wollen omslagvestje en een langer vest, beiden €1,50 en drie t-shirts voor onze oudste zoon voor €0,50 cent elk. Hij vond er twee leuk, o wonder, óndanks dat ze tweedehands zijn...haha!
A real woolen vest and a long vest, both €1.50 and three t-shirts for our oldest son for € 0,50 cents each. He even liked two of them, o wonder, athough he is in the stage that he does not like seccond hand things...haha!

Dit linnen bloesje is natuurlijk voor mij, sorry voor de kreukels want de was kwam net van de lijn.. De bloesjes kosten €2,00.

En als laatste nog twee nachtjaponnetjes voor mama, die ook graag elegant gaat slapen, voor € 1,00 per stuk.

Deze 'wens-spiegel' heeft mama Lieveheersbeestje eens op de rommelmarkt gevonden, 't is Marokaans.

Mama Lieveheersbeestje found the Maroccian 'wish-mirror' on a flea market long ago.

Het lange kastje hebben we gevonden bij de vuilnisbak en het past precies hier. Ik heb de cd's er in en heel veel speelgoed en kinderboekjes. Natuurlijk heb ik mijn boekenplank ook weer gevuld met allerlei knutsel en handwerkboekjes.

The long cabinet is used for lots of toys, childrenbooks and cd's. We found it at the trashcontainer ones. Of cource I filled my bookshelf again with my craft books.

En dit is dan onze woonkamer. Nog niet klaar hoor, we willen nog eens een ander bankstel kopen, maar voorlopig voldoet deze nog prima.
And this is our living room. We are not yet finnished and we want to buy another sofa ones, but for now it looks good, I think.

Deze teakhouten kast zie je als je op de bank zit. We gaan hem nog wit verfen, maar dat is ook nog zo'n klus voor de vakantie..

This teakwood cabin is what you see when you sit on the sofa. We want to paint it white, but that will happen later, maybe in the hollydays...

Tja, deze foto lijkt wat te donker, maar je ziet het hier wel goed.

Well, this picture looks a to dark, but you get the idea.

Zo was het dus, hier een foto die met pasen is gemaakt tijdens het eitjes zoeken.

This is how it was, this picture was taken during egghunting at eastertime.

En nu ziet het er dus zó uit. Wel veel hout, maar ja, ik ga die antieke kasten niet verfen, dat vind ik zonde. De grote eettafel is hier altijd in gebruik, mijn ouders hebben hem laten maken toen ik 14 was en later kregen wij deze tafel.

And this is how it looks now. A lot of wood, but I don't want to paint my antique cabbins. The big dinnertable was made for my parents when I was 14 years old, and now it is ours. It is always used for dinners, homework, sewing, craft, reading the paper, etc..

Het kinderhoekje ga ik ook nog wat witter maken. Het zijn twee kleuterschool tafeltjes, ik wil het blad beplakken met wit plakplastic en de poten wit schilderen.

This childrenscorner will become more white too. This are two schooltables and I want to put white plastic on the top and paint the legs white.

De zwart-gouden lamp (ooit in de uitverkoop gekocht bij Leen Bakker voor 25 gulden), heeft papa Lieveheersbeestje veranderd in een echte prinsessenlamp!

This lamp used to be black and gold collored. But papa Lieveheersbeestje turned it into a lovely girly lamp!

Onze bedoeling was om de kamer meer licht te geven, frisser en gezelliger te maken. Ik kijk graag op de Picasa website waar http://www.picasa.pimpstart.nl/ heel veel witte interieurs te zien zijn en ook de site van Elly http://myeverydaythings.blogspot.com/heeft ons geinspireerd tot het gebruiken van de witkwast. Wat vinden jullie er van?

Mama's corner... We wanted to give the room more light, make it more fresh and cozy. Mama Lieveheersbeestje recycled.

Twee jaar geleden kreeg mama Lieveheersbeestje een paar leuke bruine kandelaren, die pasten

heel goed bij de zachtgele muren. Maar...nu is het allemaal dus wit! Gelukkig is papa Lieveheersbeestje een handige knul en toverde hij deze kandelaren in een nieuw jasje! Hoe? Heel simpel; de kandelaren dik geverfd met witte grondverf (Action) en daarna opgeschuurd. Als laatste nog even met een lapje met wat verdunner er over, laten opdrogen en klaar is kees. Toen we dit ontdekt hadden, moest de tissue box er ook aan geloven en deze werd ook wit...

Two years ago, Mama Lieveheersbeestje was given a couple of brown candleholders, that where very lovely with the soft yellow walls. But...now it is all painted white overhere! I was very happy that Daddy Lieveheersbeestje is such a handy man and changed these into a new look! How? He painted them thick with a simple white ground-paint (primer) and sandet it when it was dry. Afterwards he took a piece of cloth with some terpentine on it and kind of dried them of with this. So easy! When we discoverd this, the old brown tissuebox was not safe anymore either and was given an 'old' white look too....

Natuurlijk zijn we ook veel buiten met dit mooie zomerweer en 's avonds moeten de plantjes water hebben. Toen de gieter gevuld was, leek het wel of hij verstopt was...ik haalde het zeefje er af, en tátá...een mooie kikker die de gieter als vochtige schuilplaats had opgezocht en er waarschijnlijk niet meer uit kon komen!

As the weather is very nice overhere, we spend a lot of time outside in the garden and in the evening the flowers need to be watered, so I filled it up with water. But it seemed to be closed or so...I took of the front, and tátá....a lovely frog that pobably looked for a moist place to surfive the heath!

Is het geen prachtig fotomodel? De tuin en omgeving zit er trouwens vol mee hoor, je vind ze zelfs op ooghoogte op de schutting, tussen de klimop (en daar schrik je wel van hoor!).

Isn't it a cute model? The garden and our surroundings is full with frogs, even on eye height in the fence, between the leaves (and it made me jump!).

Deze mooie vuurkorf (je kunt er ook nog op barbecuen), kreeg Papa Lieveheersbeestje op Vaderdag kado. (altijd handig als je er zelf ook nog van kunt genieten nietwaar?) En gister gaven wij hem de vuurdoop. Het had wel wat voeten in de aarde om het aparaat in elkaar te zetten....een uur of twee, maar nu brandt hij dan ook als een tierelier.Buurtjes, doe de ramen en deuren maar dicht, wij gaan lekker stinken en roken en jullie mogen er ook bij komen hoor!

This fireplace was our present for Daddy Lieveheersbeestje on Fathersday (it is always good to give a present that we all can enjoy, haha!). And yesterday we gave it it's first fire. It was a big job to assembly the thing (pfft...about two hours) but now it burns wonderful. Come on neighbours, close your windows and doors, we are going to smell and smoke today, come and join us!

Omdat ook in Lieveheersbeestjes' portomonee de economische malaise is toegeslagen (of was dat altijd al zo?), hier nog een heel simple recycle projectje voor de zomer.

At the wallet of Lieveheersbeestje, the economic crises also came (or is that the way it always was?), here another recycle project for the summertime.

Men neme; een leeg, schoon blikje en je slaat er met een schroevendraaier en hamer gaatjes in. Twee tegenover elkaar aan de bovenkant, ongeveer een centimeter of twee vanaf de bovenrand. En drie in de bodem. Nu wat aarde en een vlijtig liesje of geraniumpje er in, ijzerdraad door de gaten en om het blik en vast maken om de schuttingplanken. Je kun ook spijkertjes er in slaan natuurlijk, maar zo wil het ook. Deze potjes hangen wel in de schaduw, anders moet je wel twee keer per dag water geven. Ik probeer gewoon een bloemen zee aan de schutting te maken, kunnen de naaktslakken lekker niet bij!

You need an empty clean tin and make a few hole in it with a screwer and a hamer. Two holes across eachother, about two centimeters under the upperside. And three holes in the bottem of the tin. Than you fill it up with earth and a cute plant, and you push some strong irontreath through the holes and arround the tin and arround the fence. (You can also hit a nail into the fence of cource). These tins are in the shadow, otherwise you might water them twice a day. I just try to make an ocean of flowers on the fence, wich the snails cant reach!

Onze kersenboom zit zó vol kersjes, dat hij/zij helemaal uit elkaar is gaan hangen! Nog even en hij knapt gewoon... zoveel kersen hebben we echt nog nooit gehad. Ik kan niet wachten tot ze rijp zijn, dan pluk ik ze er allemaal af om jam van te koken, want ze zijn vreselijk zuur...niet te eten zo rauw. Hopenlijk komen de takken dan ook weer een beetje omhoog..

Our cherrytree is só full cherries, that it almost breaks! For a little while I have to wait and than I will take all fruit out of the tree to make jam from them. They are way to sour to eat fresh..We never ever had this much cherries...

En hier even een onaangenaam plaatje van mama's arm. Ja, zo zat ik er helemaal onder, mijn voetzolen tot mijn gezicht. Helemaal dik, rood, jeukend, brandend en stekend. Toen ik hiermee dinsdagnacht wakker werd wist ik het metteen; allergie. Wat heb ik verkeerd gegeten? Geen idee. Maar dit heb ik normaal alleen als ik bepaalde medicijnen slik. Na een bezoek aan de huisarts ben ik gaan afwachten, dat resulteerde in twee keer buiten bewustzijn raken, en een bezoekje aan de huisartsenpost. Brrr. Ik moest gewoon een uur of twee continu rillen en klappertanden, zo raar! Gelukkig waren hart en bloeddruk goed, en deze arts gaf mij een medicijn mee dat de boel moet onderdrukken (tafegyl). Dat werkte al na een uur! Hoera! Dit mag ik nu tot maandag gebruiken en dan zien we verder...

And this unpleasant picture is made of mama's arm. Yep, this is how I looked all over my body from the sole of my feet upinto my face. All thick, red, pain, atching, burning and painful. When I woke up with this last tuesday night, I knew it rightaway; allergics. But what did I eat that is wrong for me? I still have no idea. Normaly I only have such a heavy reaction when I take antibiotic medicines. I went to see the dockter who told me to wait a few days. But in the evening I passed out twice, so I went to the emercency dockter. I was all shaking and teeth clapping from the cold (but it was very nice weather..)realy weird! My bloodpresure and h

heart where fine, and this docktor gave me a medicine that helped right away in an hour. Now I can repress the allergics until monday and that we will see what happens...

En als laatste berichtje, nog deze kleine lieveheersbeest in de klas van groep 1. Hij mocht deze week komen 'oefenen' op de ochtenden. (Na de zomervakantie gaat hij de basis school). De eerste dag was hij nog wat gespannen, samen met de andere zeven nieuwe kindertjes. Maar daarna was het gesneden koek. Hij gaat zitten alsof hij al jaren op school zit, en dat mama dan nog een knuffel nodig heeft, nou vooruit dan maar....de ochtenden zijn lang, saai en errug still....

And my last update is this little lieveheersbeestje in the first class of school. This week he was allowed to praktice on the mornings to go to school. (after the summer he will attend fully the first class). On the first day he was a bit nervous, but now he is acting like he does this for years already.! And when mama lieveheersbeestje needs a goodbye hugg, well he will do that for her....the mornings are very long, boring and silent....

Awards en nieuwe kleertjes... Awards and new clothing...

indelijk heeft Mama Lieveheersbeestje weer even wat tijd om te bloggen... al is het dan al wel half elf 's avonds geweest... Het opknap-plan van de woonkamer en de gang (en enpassant ook nog even de wc, trappengat en de overloop meegenomen) loopt op zijn eind. Nog even en ik kan de kasten weer gaan inpakken. Nu zijn het de kleine dingen zoals lampen ophangen, kasten aan de muur verankeren en schoenenrekjes vast zetten, die nog gedaan moeten worden. Het laminaat ligt er nu een week in en ziet er goed uit!! Helaas is het wel koud...en gehorig, maar alles went zullen we maar zeggen. We zullen uiteindelijk wel nog een kleed bij de zithoek kopen, anders hebben we de hele winter koude voeten, ben ik bang. Ik geef nog niets prijs, geen foto's, tot dat alles weer mooi is..dus nog even geduld allemaal! Ondertussen ben ik wel gaan nadenken over al die spullen die in de kasten staan. Ik mis wel heel erg mijn knutselspullen, maar voor de rest eigenlijk niets... Waarom heb ik dan zoveel?? Ik denk dat er dit jaar nog meer naar de rommelmarkt gaat!

Finaly Mama Lieveheersbeestje found time to blog ones again..although it is 22.30 hours already.. The big facelift for the livingroom and hallway (and in the meantime also the toilet, stairway and upperhall) is almost finnished. A little more time now and I can repack the cabinets. Now only the small things like hanging lamps has to be done. The laminate floor is layed here a week ago and it looks lovely!! Unfortunatly it feels a bit cold...and noises are louder, but we will adjust to that. Finaly we will buy a carpet for the sitting area otherwise we will have cold feet all winter long... I don't show pictures jet, you must have some patience. While this time I was thinking about all the stuff that where in the cabinets. I do miss my craft supplies very much, but all the other items...no! Why do we have so much things? I will have a lot to sell on the fleamarket!

Hier zo'n overvol kastje met dingen die nog wel van pas zullen komen...Here such a full cabinet with things that might come handy...

Ondertussen heb ik bedacht dat ik maar eens mijn aankopen ga bloggen die ik bij tweedehands winkels doe. Misschien een leuke inspiratie voor anderen? Deze outfit had ik twee weken geleden gekocht bij het Leger des Heils. De dunne zomerrok met elastiekje in de taille, hoef je niet te strijken en dat sprak mij natuurlijk meteen aan, haha! De rok koste twee euro. Het blauwe vestje heeft heel veel kleine knoopjes en dat vond ik erg schattig en het tshirt heeft lange mouwen, altijd handig en past hier bij. Voor het vestje betaalde ik één vijftig en voor het tshirt één euro. Dus deze hele outfit kostte mij vijf euro...ha! Je snapt dat ik wel goed oplet of er niets aan de kleding mankeerd, dat je het goed kunt wassen en ik kijk ook naar bepaalde merken. (Hema is bijvoorbeeld vaak goed van kwaliteit). In the mean time I came up with the idea to blog the cloths that I buy at seccond hand shops. Maybe a nice inspiration for others?This outfit I bought two weeks ago at the Salvation Army shop. The thin summer skirt has an elastic taille, needs no iron and those where good! The skirt costed me 2 euro (about the same amount in dollars). The bleu vest ( 1,50 euro) has loads of cute buttons and I loved it so much! The tshirt fits with it al nicely , has long sleeves and was one euro. So, this total outfit costed me only 5 euro..ha! Ofcource I keep an close eye to the details and look carefuly if the clothing is undamaged and washable.

Mei is bijna weer voorbij... May is almost finnished...

Op de leuke site http://jennwa.blogspot.com/2009/05/daisy-cupcakes.htmlstonden heerlijke cakejes. Maar ik weet niet hoe ze die crémige garnering maken, dus wij hebben het glazuur gemaakt met poedersuiker en een drupje water. Daarna een paar spekjes in reepjes geknipt en er opgeplakt en ziehier het resultaat...!

On the lovely site of http://jennwa.blogspot.com/2009/05/daisy-cupcakes.html where yummy cakes to see... Ofcource we decidet to make these too! We backed some cakes and let them cool down. I have no idea how to make the deco-glaze on the original post, so I made some glaze with powder-sugar and a few drops of water. I cut some marshmellows in pieces and vóila...!

Ondertussen gaat het werk hier gestaagt door... iedereen helpt mee en leert veel nieuwe dingen.

In the meantime the work on the house continiues...everyone is helping and we all learn new things.

Hier zie je de gestuukte muur, al keurig in de verf, en de kozijnen en tuindeuren in de grondverf. Het begint nu echt ergens op te lijken en de kamer is zo al veel lichter. Terwijl de vorige kleur ook best licht was (lichtgeel). Maar nu is alles mooi en fris.

This is the repaired waal, already painted white, and the woodwork and doors are painted with primer. It is realy beginning to look nice and the room looks so much lighter. Although the last collor was very light too (light yellow). But now it all looks fresh.

Ondertussen gaan we natuurlijk gewoon door met consuminderen. Op de markt hadden we een heerlijk koopje; een kist goede prei voor maar één euro! Maar wat te doen met 33 preien? Was mama lieveheersbeestje wat te hebberig misschien? Na de buurtjes en oma wat prei in de maag gesplitst te hebben, bleef dit nog over. En dat zit nu in de diepvries. Laten we morgen prei gaan eten!

Meanwhile, we still try to downshift as much as we can. At the local market I had a lovely buy; a whole box with good leek for only one euro! But what to do with 33 leeks? Maybe mama lieveheersbeestje was a bit too greedy? After a supprise gift of leek for grandma and all the neighbours, this is what remains. And it is all in the freezer now. Lets eat leek tomorrow!

Dit is de familie Merel die tot gisteren in onze tuin woonde. Er zaten maar liefst vijf bijna volwassen mereltjes in het nest. En ze waren letterlijk opgestapeld; drie onder in het nest en twee zaten boven op de anderen. Je kent het wel; van die slungelige zestienjarigen die toch nog een beetje kind willen zijn...

This is our family blackbird that lived in our garden until yesterday. Fife almost adult blackbirds lived in the nest. And there where three actualy inside the nest and two on top of the others. Maybe you recognise it ; those longlegged sixteen year olds that still want to be mummy's child...

Maar opeens kozen ze dan toch het luchtruim, de één na de ander. En vlogen ze zo goed en zo kwaad als het ging, het park achter ons huis in. Ik zie de ouders nu nog wel in de bomen zitten, maar de kindermerels.....geen idee hoe het afgelopen is met ze. Jammer eigenlijk, we gingen iedere dag even voorzichtig in het nestje gluren.

But suddenly they all flew out of the nest. Still a litle wacky, but they went into the trees of the park behind our house. Now I see their parents inside the trees, but what happend to the children blackbirds...no idea. Although I realy miss the nest-watching everyday...

Het is overigens niet makkelijk om nog een plekkie te vinden om te koken hier...tussen de schuurblokjes, schroevendraaiers en goudvissen...
Although it is not easy to find a place to cook here...in between the sandpaper, screwdrivers and goldfishes...

Toch is het nog gelukt om een broccoli taartje uit de oven te toveren!
Still I managed to make a broccoli pie from the oven!

We hebben ook laminaat besteld, van Berry Floors, in de kleur Meditaraine Den. Het is mooi wit en toch een houtstructuur. Én het plafond is gewit! (moet wel nog een keer, maar ziet er al heel mooi uit).

We ordered Laminate in the collor Mediteranian Pine..lovely white and still a wood structure. Ánd the ceiling was painted white! (looks great already, but it needs another layer of paint).

Nu ziet het er zó uit, al moet het nog wel even drogen, toch een mooie verbetering!

Het is wel 'kamperen in eigen huis' hier (nu weet ik weer waarom ik dus niet zo van kamperen hou..), de planten uit de woonkamer staan bij het oudste lieveheersbeestje op de kamer...

We are realy 'camping in our own house' overhere (now I remember why I did not like camping again..), the house plants from the livingroom are at the oldest Lieveheersbeest-childs' room...

Het jongste manneke heeft zijn 'kantoor/ateliertje' verhuist naar de kamer van zijn zus, waar dit gelukkig precies past.

Our youngest man moved his 'office/creative studio' to the room of his big sister, where was just enough space.

En op maandagmorgen, ik zou bijna zeggen; tussen neus en lippen door, kreeg onze kleinste ook nog 'even' buisjes in zijn oren. De vierde keer al in drie jaar...

And in the mean time , I can almost say 'in between', our smallest boy was operated and got eartubes. For the fourth time in 3 years...

Hier zie je hem onder nacose, hij had alleen maar een zere keel toen hij wakker werd, van die tube, verder ging het prima!

Here you can see him in sleep, het had a sore mouth when he waked up, from the tube in his mouth, further things went fine!

Van de zuster kreeg hij nog wat te drinken en te eten en een lekker waterijsje en om half 11 stonden we alweer in huis. Met een heel gewoon jongentje, alsof er niets gebeurd was...

The nurse gave him something to drink and a cookie and a lovely icecream. And at 10.30 we where at home again with a total normal boy. Like nothing happend...
